Hello all!
I'm seraching for blind musicians, especially in the field of
Synthesizer and keyboard.
And friend and me we wish to start an initiative for accessibility in
the field of keyboards, synthesizers and workstations. Unfortunatily the
new electronic instruments get so complext and often so nasty to use, that
a blind or visually impaired person can use them without having a runnig
windows and certainly the screen-reader you need. But this screen-reader
software is very expensive. Another problem is, that often there isn't
even a manual in electronic form available. So can't even learn about the
features you could use. We would like to at least decrease the problem of
having no manuals. But a far more interesting aim would be to get a simple
hardware solution to directly access a devices display, with a
braille-line. Those solutions aren't expensive, if you think about them
right from the start, but you must come to think about them. We would like
to direct the componies view towards such problems. The first componies to
contact would be: Roland, Yamaha and Korg. Because their new products
nearly always are what a free market expects to hear. Their sounds and
general features to edit are what a studio-musician should have, to earn
money with his music. But more important for us, is just to have the
possibility to buy those devices, because there is a chance to access all
the features.
