In defence of devfs(and mandrake) I can say that I've not had any such problems
with devfs. Does it only occur under certain cirumstances?

> Cool, glad to help. That mandrake / devfs thing is a bit annoying really. If you treck deep into the mandrake web site i think it does mention that they were a bit 'worried' about it, so why they went ahead and used it is beyond me.
