I do use and like an m-audio (midiman) Delta 66 , but I think if you
really want *the best* audio quality, you should get an RME
or other digital-input card and buy external ADCs and DACs of your choice.
The Delta sounds nice, but its 24-bit resolution is in practice
as good as (maybe slightly better than) a "perfect" 16-bit card.
Of course that still puts the noise level way below acoustic ambience
of most studios...
