tried gsmp as well now. unfortunately its not stable enough on this
machine to work with. another thing worth noting is that it appears to
another app that just isn't happy with the current OSS sound drivers for
the powermac, i eventually got it working on an old 2.4.5 ppc kernel i
found.
gsmp looks potentially very useful though... i like the way the gui
stays really responsive at all times.
