I am having diificulty getting sound out of my PC which is based on the SIS
630 chip set. I am using RH7.2 and sndconfig thinks I have a Trident sound
chip but when you try the test sound it just exits. Kudzu has nothing to say
about it either and a dmesg dump shows nothing about the sound system, lsmod
gives the following output:

As you can see, snd, soundcore and trident are loaded.

According to KDE Control Centre the sound is:

Sound Driver 3.8.2-980706 (ALSA v0.5 .12a emulation code)

Installed drivers: Type 10 ALSA emulation

Card Config --- no soundcards--

Audio, Synth and Midi devices : not enabled in config

Any clues as to how to get this working?

TIA

Ian
