I've a 2.4.18 kernel with alsa 0.9.0rc1 freshly installed.
I tried to compile pd:
configure --enable-alsa
then make depend gives:

...............
...................
st.c x_gui.c d_soundfile.c s_linux.c > makefile.dependencies
In file included from s_linux.c:36:
/usr/include/sys/asoundlib.h:1: warning: #warning This header is deprecated,
use <alsa/asoundlib.h> instead.
make: *** [depend] Error 1

I tried mv asoundlib.h asoundlib.h.old (must be something left by my old alsa
0.5)
Now make depend (after make clean,./configure --enable alsa) gives
..................
................
 sys/asoundlib.h: Aucun fichier ou r?pertoire de ce type
make: *** [depend] Error 1

How can make it find the good asoundlib.h
I have a /usr/include/alsa/asoundlib.h ,which must be the new one I guess
