Yep, so have I.
I scr*wed up my rpm based system way too much.
Now I use Debian.

But I keep a close eye on Gentoo's source based distro
too, seems even more appropriate for cutting edge
development systems ?
Now only if there would be ebuilds for JACK, LADSPA ... :)
