Recent versions of Cool Edit have a "Remove Clipping" function that (I
think) uses FFT to figure out what frequency is supposed to be playing on
either side of each clipped area and interpolates it in like a CD player
doing oversampling. It makes it less crackly but it's still kinda
wrong-sounding.
