Also, even if you don't end up using it, the demo of the
OSS-Linux commercial drivers is pretty good at identifying
and configuring soundcards. You could download that,
write down the settings it uses if you need 'em (e.g. IRQs and such),
and then use whatever driver you want - alsa or oss-free.
