SGI,used to have a certain degree of usage in 3D special effects but not
so much nowadays. IfSGI do much in post production it tends to be with
high end film compositing tools from Discreet Logic, which certainly
handle audio but very much as second fiddle to their streaming video
handling.
Certainly audio research was done with SGI kit, Sox et al, but certainly
in London the majority of audio work is done with Apple kit.
