Yeah, one point in favor of mailing lists that I've seen bandied about
is their superiority for archival purposes. I suppose if you're the
one doing the archiving, this is true, but I have yet to see any forum
software in modern use that sucks half as bad as digging through
mailing lists archives online.

Like it or not, if it's linux and it's audio, the lists are the place
to be. However, you raise an interesting possibility, and I'm
not a fan of sitting on my ass and whining. So...
