there are several, but none when I unplug/plug the USB device.

I just booted with acpi=off and checked the logs to make sure it was
off. No difference.

I just plugged in a usb cardreader, tail'd the log and the device was
recognized. (disconnection was detected as well).
From this short experiment, it seems to me that the usb hotplug
detection is working.

Any other ideas?
('ll reboot with acpi=on and see if the cardreader is detected)

brad
