Ok, so to load some sound files, the only way is to drag them into the
 editor. The File->Open function is only used to load an entire project.

If you drag an encoded file like mp3 or ogg and it does'nt work, it mean that
you don't have the correct gstreamer plugin installed. See in the term if you
see something like :
"Gstreamer error:
There is no element present to handle the stream's mime type bla/bla."

to correct this, try to install the correct gstreamer plugin and do a
"gst-register-0.8" to rebuild the gstreamer plugin database.

For example, I found that on fedora3, the mp3 plugin is missing in gstreamer,
and you have to install a separate package.

It contains some samples to play with, and a project (the .xml file) that you
can load with the File->Load menu...
