Why I _should_ do that?

First off, Paul is better than me at improving his own creation.

Second, I hope you're not suggesting that any single synth is the
one-size-fits-all answer to all musicians' needs. There is such a thing
as a synth's personality, which is important for those who actually make
music. Plus, a synth that tries to do everything becomes rapidly very
hard to use.

Third, there's this religious war between software and hardware synths.
My personal view is that hardware synths are much easier to use, but I
wouldn't rule out using a softsynth with a dedicated hardware interface
(pretty much like a hardsynth but moving the synth engine into the
computer). Zyn is a softsynth and therefore shares some shortcomings
with all other softsynths. I don't see any dedicated hardware interface
being designed for it any time soon, what with market share, and what
with it being open source and all that.

Fourth, I actually volunteered some suggestions to Paul, about a year
ago or so, based on my experience with Alesis Ion. But that's just
because Ion and Zyn share similar architectural concepts.

What you're saying is essentially a re-hash of the old theme "this is
the Linux Revolution, let's take over the world, join us or prepare for
combat."
Please, let's stay rational. Or better yet, contribute code instead of
cranking out propaganda.
