Just a quick word of caution about picking up an M-Audio Revolution 7.1.
Their is some bug sitting in alsa right now that causes the left side of
the front stereo pair to be muted until you twiddle the volume. Naming
of the channels also causes some problems with gui mixers that expect
naming other than DAC[0-8] or so ..

Otherwise, the audio out is nice, but the above problems make it a bit
more of a pain in the ass.

I've replaced mine with a SB Audigy2, and it sound fairly close in the
way of quality, and is much less of a pain in the ass ..
