Could you give some more information: What did you try so far? The
first thing to check is if the module for the card is loaded. Load it
with

$ sudo modprobe snd-ice1712

then check the output of "/sbin/lsmod" for any occurence of
"snd-ice1712" or "snd_ice1712".

What does this command tell you:

$ cat /proc/asound/cards

It should look somehow like this:

 0 [M2496 ]: ICE1712 - M Audio Audiophile 24/96
                      M Audio Audiophile 24/96 at 0xf500, irq 11

If this is okay, then you need to set the mixer levels,
using envy24control or alsamiixer.
