you found the wrong AAF, alas. i don't believe that this is a
coincidence, btw - i suspect Apple knew precisely what they were doing.

AAF is not the apple spec, its the "Advanced Authoring Format", an
industry standard. the new XML version is very new (not released yet)
but will be massively better than the existing one.
