Just under the "Reverb" (light blue) part on Zyn, and on the right is an empty
combo box. Click on that, and it will open the banks window. On the top left
is a white combo box with an arrow to the right of it. Click,and hold on
that, and you will get a menu of the available sounds. Scroll down while
holding, and click on something. Synth piano for example, and you'll get a
bunch of different sounds in the banks window that you can choose from.

Which model of Yamaha keyboard is it. I have an Evolution one (usb), but
perhaps there is some control on your's that needs enabling to send midi
through the usb.

I presume you've done all of this, but just to check. Open Qjackctl, press
start to start the jack daemon. Click on "Connect", and in the Audio tab
highlight zyn on the left, and alsa_pcm on the right, and click the connect
button. Now Click the MIDI tab, or the ALSA one, if it's a later version of
Qjackctl. Your keyboard should be on the left, and Zyn on the right. Just
highlight them, and again click on connect.

Everything looks ok with your loaded sound modules above.

snd-usb-audio is needed for your keyboard, and is loaded. snd-seq-midi is
needed for creating midi connections in qjackctl. If that wasn't loaded
qjackctl would be complaining.
