Sorry for the noise. This appears to do what I want:
ecasound -a:1 -i "inputfile.wav" -o jack_auto,jamin -a:2 -i jack_auto,jamin -o outputfile-mastered.wav
Although it doesn't do it in freewheeling mode, it at least does the job. Yay ecasound!
