My question is, once you get rid of pulse and have jack running, how do
you use Firefox (e.g for youtube)? skype?
What I do nowadays is run pulseaudio on top of jack (with the jack sink
module):
pulseaudio -L module-jack-sink -D
although that was also hard to get working
