... forgot to add: yes, you can create a binaural version with Csound
using the older opcode or the better and recently added hrtf opcodes:

I've been using them to create binaural versions of my multichannel
pieces and it works pretty well. It's easy to put together a Csound
orchestra to process multiple mono files into a single stereo
binaural, I have one for 8 channels that I can post here if you are
interested.
