I'm using a type of power strip - UPS (uninterrupted power supply)
battery backup - and have the Delta 1010 plugged into a non-power
outlet but still surge-protected outlet.

It seems like there would be an appropriate order of powering devices
on/off. The other day I unplugged the Delta 1010 first and it produced
a popping sound. Not cool.

I'm figuring this would be a good order to use:
1. "Stop"/"Quit" JACK.
2. Power off the mixer.
3. Unplug/power off the breakout box.

I don't know if the power-on order matters as much, perhaps the reverse:
1. Plug in/power on the breakout box.
2. Power on the mixer.
3. Load/"Start" JACK.

I'd figure that surge protection reduces the risks with the power
source directly though it doesn't necessarily protect additional audio
components that are connected to the devices.

Better to be safe than sorry. ;-)
