If the mics are far from a source in a very reverberant space, you
might be better served by SDC as they tend to have a smoother
off-axis response.

Also, omnis might be better for that kind of spectrum. I think
that many cardioids are designed for flat LF response at 20 cm or
some such short distance. On a distant source, they roll off the LF.

I'd try a pair of cheap "measurement" mikes like the T-bone MM-1,
Behringer ECM8000 etc. They're omni and the capsule is certainly
small !

This is all theoretical, I've never done this. You could ask on
