Unfortunately, it still looks like there is something a bit special
with coming up with 'rich' and 'deep' algorithms to make sound synths,
so special that it evades Open Source. Either by the amount of
required effort or because once found, it goes away from Open Source.
Only for curiosity I would like to know what this is. Maybe it is the
way a project started ? Cannot change drastically algorithms halfway
in the project ? There is though a clear link with electronics
hobbyists with what the simulation of analog oscillators, for one
approach. It even go to the level of having a tunable parameter for
capacitor failure and a parameter for adjusting crosstalk on pcboard
lines (u-he Diva). Maybe the kind of quality algorithms derived to do
this have to do with expensive electronics analysis equipment and
having an array of old well-known synths ?
