It takes quite some time to achieve separation and 3D location, even
for seasoned mixing engineers.
The context could be defined as hobby or professional.
But then it also depends on the goals. If it's more or less a hobby
type of thing, then it's not as important as being able to get the
sounds to their best on any type of commercial system including radio,
earbuds, streaming, car audio, coffee shops, etc, etc.
Another task that could be tackled is to suggest adjustments so that
when someone listens to low volume on the radio, and kind of likes the
song, as he/she raises the volume, the songs sounds better, it opens up,
and the person is confirmed in his/her first impression that wow, this
is a great song. This is all embedded in the mix.
