To make a mix transparent, the focus is on level and frequency.
Foreground and background should work in mono and stereo, without
separation by 3D sound localization. However, if you want a plugin that
allows you to position a sound in 3D, this plugin doesn't need a
network with other plugins. If you want that the plugin does analyse
tracks to detect drum and bass and to position them automatically in a
predetermined way, it could analyse tracks without the need of a network
with other plugins. Without a good mix regarding level and frequency,
IOW without fader and EQ, you unlikely could accomplish 3D positioning.
Without an example how to do a recording and a mix, the idea of a
"framework" still is abstract. It doesn't add up without a
complete example. Your examples are just fragments of something that is
abstract.
