Subject: [linux-audio-dev] convolution reverb ?

hello everybody !
at a workshop (see below) i learned about a concept called
convolution.
basically, this is about multiplying a signal with an impulse
response file of
a room with nice reverb, resulting in the signal sounding *exactly*
as if played back in that particular room.
drawbacks are lack of tweakability, non-real-time processing and the
difficulty to
obtain good impulse responses that are free from street noise and
the like.
the advantage is: it sounds incredibly natural.
does anyone know about linux implementations of this concept ?
the algorithm doesn´t appear too complicated, it seems it´s all
about cpu-time.
regards,
jörn
for an excellent documentation on synthesis refer to

convolution is mentioned in section 5.4 (sorry, mostly in german)
