I haven't any experience with rear output (looks that difference is only
in mixer part), but every PCM stream processed with Trident chipset can be
syncronized in this way.

It would be perfect, because the ALSA midlevel routines offers automatic
conversions (I need to do some parts, but the skeleton is ready) for
OSS/Lite and alsa-lib offers this functionality for native applications.
Also mmap is fully supported and API covers also IEC-958/AES/EBU.
API is now ready for this card.

I'd like to see the support for this professional card in ALSA.
