the key here is network bandwidth and latency.

for example you can record 200 tracks on disk by spreading the load
across 4-5 boxes, it's basically distributing the disk load over multiple
computers.

But the cool thing would be doing parallel processing of complex audio
networks using a cluster of PCs connected by cross-over 100Mbit cables.

Anyway we have first to make thing work on our UP box and write lots
of LADSPA plugins in order to have some testmaterial available.
