This reminds me of a recurring thread on rec.audio.pro regarding the
abuse of compression and especially the new digital compressors to
make every CD as "loud" as possible. THere have been numerous
predictions that sooner or later we'll see a CD consisting of
nothing but a square wave maximized to +- 32768. This CD is expected
to reach #1 on pop radio.
