at 450 euro, i think it is competetively priced (can't find a price online
for pc1600x anymore) I don't have it in front of me, but i'm pretty sure
the default mode is 7 bit, and i suspect that is the limit on resolution.
On the other hand, the 'bitstream pro' is reprogrammable via sysex messages,
and one can assign 24 bits of data to each controller. I haven't done
anything with this (the default cc mode was perfect for me) so i can't say
how flexible this is. A spiffy gui is only available only for windows, but
the protocol for reassigning controls is freely available, and the waveidea
fellas said they were happy to help anyone developing a mac/linux gui.
see waveidea.com for info.

Correct.. GDAM cannot duplicate an audio source and send it to multiple
devices", only mix multiple sources for a single device and switch a source
from one device's mix to another. DJ mixers generally have only 2 stereo
output channels, and 2 or 4 inputs. Both outputs (preview and room) get every
input, but with different sets of volume controls. This allows the DJ to
preview a new track mixed in with whatever the room is hearing. GDAM isn't yet
attempting completely flexible, N by N channel support (may never). But i
would like to see simple routing, like common dj hardware. We just need to
fix our 'tee' source :)
