fwiw, i look forward to having different outboard devices able to "listen"
for audio and control data sent to it off of one wire. no more impedence
concerns, etc. also, devices can be programmed in a manner that makes more
sense in the context of the song. (eg the phasor sweeps a sine wave 2 beats
long twice, then a sine wave a measure long . . .)
in other words, it would do a lot to make the outboard gear in the studio
look like max/msp, or even csound.
