probably not actually that much simpler (assuming the FFT can be
considered a
black-box), and would ignore correlations other than at the peaks; but
you'll
just have to try it I guess.
Seems I got the wrong end of the stick before: thought you were talking
about
rhythmical syncing rather than phasing. Sorry.
