As a user, here's my (incomplete) wish list.
What I want most is to be able to
play stuff on a keyboard (or with mouse or whatever), synthesize
something as a result, and record the synthesis along with
previously recorded tracks.

Spiral Synth
Xsynth
TerminatorX
Oolaboola
Greenbox
Timidity

Oh yeah, and csound <runs for cover>
