many commercial plugin developers do not use VSTGUI, but instead use
their own GUI development tools. all of waves plugins, for example,
are written without vstgui, and i believe this is true for several
other of the more successful plugin companies. this is because they
want their GUIs to be as portable as their DSP code, not just to other
CPU architectures, but to other plugin systems.
