There's a really slow interpeter that's the reference implementation
(saolc, by Eric Schierer:

http://web.media.mit.edu/~eds/mpeg4-old/sa-decoder.html

And there's a VM interpeter project out of EPFL, which runs much
faster:

http://profs.sci.univr.it/~dafx/Final-Papers/pdf/Zoia_final_vDSP_dafx00.pdf
http://citeseer.nj.nec.com/476015.html

But at the moment, I believe the only downloadable software from
this project runs under Windows, as a technology demo:

http://lsiwww.epfl.ch/saog/proj_saint/demo.html

All of these projects (including sfront) live in a world where the
program is presented as a complete SAOL program to the decoder, and
only SASL and MIDI control streams are presentable dynamically. You
could use Structured Audio as a starting point for something that
dynamically added and subtracted SAOL instrs on the fly, but no one
has gone down that path yet ...
