Hi lad-folk,
In keeping with the new laa-lad-lau posting rules, I won't be making a
habit of sending out sfront announcements to lad anymore, apart from
the occassional releases with associated developer issues (like this
release, sfront 0.80, http://www.cs.berkeley.edu/~lazzaro/sa/index.html).
Two issues of possible developer interest:
-1- We decided to put the "MP4-SA book" under the GFDL, its
now bundled with each sfront release. This means that
any SAOL-oriented tool can incorporate the book into
its own documentation if it wishes (the older license
was more restrictive ...).
-2- The main feature of this release is compliance with the
March 2002 Corrigenda from MPEG. Part of the update of
the book describes these language updates from the
SAOL programmers point of view:
http://www.cs.berkeley.edu/~lazzaro/sa/book/append/cor2/index.html
and should give a sense of the types of compatibility issues
and language bugs that are being addressed in each round of the
Corrigenda process.
