Just trying to grok how much I can technically expect from an HDD.
I have a fair idea but could someone comfirm my understanding or
elaborate please.
If I want to record a stream the bottleneck is the speed at which the
hdd can transfer the data from the ide cable onto a disc right?
For example if I want a 16 bit, 48000 khz, mono file, that is 768
Kbit/sec.
If my hdd specs tell me that the media transfer rate is
Media Transfer Rate (Mbits/sec): 108.8-202.9
How many of the above streams would I technically be able to capture?
Would it be 0.1416 streams? ie not even 1 and a half streams?
