You might try a alsa-0.9.xbeta, maybe the ones included in woody, or just
wind some up yourself from the source packages.

But your sblive problem looks more like a hardware issue. Maybe you
have some weird interrupt sharing, for example your graphics card and
the sblive don't like each other. Check /proc/interrupts. Here my IDSN
card an the sblive share interrupt 11, which seems ok, but your problems
with moving windows in blackbox indicate conflicts with the graphics
card. If you can set the interrupts in the BIOS, try changing them here,
otherwise moving the cards in other slots could help.

I was disappointed by the SBLive in other ways and I am now a happy owner
of a M-Audio Delta Audiophile. The SBLive lives here only for the occasional
game of quake3 ;-)
