I understand this. But I don't like it :)

In my mind, it should be this way: first you look for the editor(s) that
seem interesting to you (a feeling based on whatever description of the app
you get in the site), then you have access to the ratings, which may help
you avoid some of the editors and save your time. but at least you will
have a chance to be informed about the existence of this very strange
editor that nobody likes because you have to enter each sample value by
hand, but which you (because you're plain crazy) will happen to fall in
love with.

doesn't this sound quite (almost) like a realistic situation ?
