Hello

I've now been tracking happily for a couple of days with my linux audio
setup. if you are interested, heres what i'm using and how:

dual p3 600 pc - redhat 7.2, alsa 0.9beta12, ens1370.
running RTSynth or pd controlled via soundcard joystick midi interface.

powerbook g4 400 - yellowdog 2.1, oss + built in sound (can't use my
vxpocket - have to sell it and get a hammerfall when the drivers are
out/ i can afford it).

running spiral synth modular + or pd + ladspa plugs, controlled via
midiman midisport 2x2

i've ssh 'd the mac from the pc and set it up to display to the mac
xserver.

using an mpc2000xl as midi sequencer and drum machine.
using a mackie 14 channel to mix the audio.

will probably use my old dcc deck to record, as theres no audio in on
the mac and the pc audio in v noisy, i'll have to cheat, using macos to
dump the audio back to the mac digitally through the vxpocket for 2
track editing, which i'll then do using wavesurfer under linux. would
love to get a decent multitrack audio app going!

btw, everything is nice and stable.

- matthew
