('binary' encoding is not supported, stored as-is) The maestro 2e soundcards can do 4 channel hardware mixing.
Which is handy for playback while testing or writing code
among other things.

Also, try to go for IBM or Fujitsu HDDs as they seem to
have the best internal data transfer rates. Which is even
more important in notebooks because they don't have the
rpms.
