True, but remember he's not "playing" a CD in the normal sense,
he's doing CDDA extraction. I haven't used alsaplayer for this in a
while, but I know that when I use cdparanoia to rip from a CD
it takes a *long* time.

Anyway, clearly he *is* getting dropouts...
