the FCB1010 works perfectly with linux - its a purely MIDI technology. I
use it with sooperlooper and to provide foot controls for my 2 h/w
synthesizers.

my only bad experience was plugging my first FCB1010 into a socket in
rotterdam. even though it has an IEC power socket, it absolutely is not
equipped with a universal power supply. a large hum/buzz later, and my
investment was destroyed by twice the voltage it was designed for :(

do read the manual *very* carefully, even if you think you know all
about what it does. i spent a long night getting more and more confused
because i thought i already knew what it did; i was wrong. it did the
right thing, but a little differently from my mental model.
