Well, it is impossible if you are using a fixed-pitch instrument.
With talented singers, it's almost impossible to have any fifth or
third not perfect. If tempered tunings are not limited to 12 notes,
why should just tunings be?
Btw, one other ET I've come across and read about is 31-tET. I'm not
sure what its advantages are offhand, but Adriaan Fokker espoused it,
and he's well-respected in some circles. I also seem to recall
Hermann Helmholtz suggesting some ET in his book, somewhere between
50- and 110- tone ET I think.
