You do realize that most of the commerical formats support, and most
releases for them, are encrypted right? It isn't just converting formats
but also decrypting the samples for playback is the issue.
Even those libraries that use SFZ can be encrypted, see Garritan's for
instance, which I emailed a while back in the hopes to get it working in
Linuxsampler. The response I received was not shutting the door, but
didn't sound like they were moving to quickly on it either.
