And there's the rub, especially when it thinks wrongly. This seems to
occur more often than not IME. Sound always[1] worked perfectly for me
*until* pulseaudio came along. I wouldn't mind so much if it was an
optional package you could install if *you wanted* to.
[1] There was a problem where alsa used to mute the audio output on boot
for a while.
P.S. I don't use linux to create music, but then again, that is what I
thought linuxmusicians was for. (eek! its a forum! That might explain
things?)
