Hi Atte,

FireWire is being phased out. Same goes for ExpressCard, at least the
notebook I recently bought doesn't have any other interface slots other
than USB. And yes, you should be able to get <10ms latency and reliable
performance with USB. I'm using FireWire too on my main system but I'm
thinking about selling the unit and getting a USB device like the
Presonus 1818VSL so I can use it on my notebook too.
