I don't know this guitarist's music, but IIUC a guitarist who's music I
know does the same, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stanley_Jordan,
however tapping is an averaged, common guitar playing technique, it's
not unusual, most of us just don't do it that often (and perhaps not
that perfect) as e.g. Stanley Jordan does. It's just unusual to build
show guitars for tapping. If you use this as an analogy, then you should
write your own command line (tools).
