The 'Interlude3' is a bit too repetitive perhaps. The idea of the
percussion is quite interesting. In general the way it goes is quite
good, the progression of chords, the theme. The only thing would be to
have a 'break' of some sort that makes it possible to return to the
main theme in a grand manner.
'Summer Afternoon' however doe snot lack any developments. As a piece
of progressive rock it stands its ground very well, notwithstanding
better recording, etc... In the range of Anglagard, Flower Kings, and
other prog bands. It shows every element that's needed to make a piece
in that genre. The role of the bass is important and adds a lot to the
overall harmonic presence. A bit of a fretless sound, a bit of sliding
here and there would be nice. We hear some, but with more of a
character. This piece has a lot of good ideas that could be driven for
a re-recording for this style. In such a case, synth sounds would be
adjusted for the character of each part. Hmmm.. Lacks guitar ! :)
Cheers,
Al
